HP Ink Cartridges

HP Ink cartridges are what allows a Hewlett Packard Deskjet printer to print. Ink cartridges are also the highest cost item in the use of a printer. Outlay to purchase new HP ink cartridges can easily exceed the cost of a new printer in just a year. Most HP ink cartridges change when a new printer model comes out. This was not the case at one time but of late, Hewlett Packard has designed the HP ink cartridges so the head is no longer a part of the cartridge and must be purchased separately. If an inkjet printer is used infrequently, the HP ink cartridges dry up and the heads clog and resist the cleaning process. It can cost over $100 to replace a set of heads and cartridges. This is the main revenue stream of HP's printer operation.
