HP laser printers are among the most reliable of all printers. I can attest to that because I purchaed an HP 4L laser printer in 1995. It is still going strong and is the only laser printer I own. The only thing I have had to do to my HP laser printer is replace the toner cartridge and that is fairly infrequent. The first cartridge lasted over two years. The technology of an HP laser printer is relatively simple. An image of the page to be printed is plased on a drum by a laser. The toner adheres to the drum in the form of the page due to magnetic charge. The page then is passed over a roller heated to around 350 degrees. The toner is then melted onto the paper giving the sharp crisp letters mentioned earlier.
